10 Best Ways To Raise Money For A Charity

By: Christopher Reinhold

The world today has realised the importance of helping others who are not able to survive in these difficult times without such help. If these people are not helped in their desperate times, then they might someday become a source of crime in society. Survival at any cost is among the most basic human instincts; therefore if such people do not receive financial assistance when they need it they could resort to unjust means to secure their survival.

Raising money for charity is not as simple as it may seem. Many people face difficulties in this task as they are not able to approach people, or impress them enough in their noble cause to persuade them to give donations. Following are some very useful tips to help raise charity funds.

(1) The first and foremost thing to do is let everyone know about the charity and the cause the funds are being raised for. The more the people know about the charity the higher the chances of receiving financial donations. Email and other sources of communication over the internet such as blogs, forums, chat networks, social networks, etc are a great source for spreading the word. One must also build charity PR to guarantee better results for fundraisers.

(2) Hosting dress or talent shows for raising funds is a good option. One can easily organise a talent show and then charge a small fee for the seats in the show. This way the fee can be utilized to raise funds for the charity.

(3) Many parties and small events can be hosted to raise money and get sponsors for some charitable organisation. For example, funds for an orphaned school for children can be raised by holding a function at the school where the children would perform. This has proven to encourage people to give funds for a charitable cause.

(4) Holding contests, race events and quizzes might also help in raising funds.

(5) One may be able to find companies that give donations to charities, and it may be possible to strike a deal that the company will double the funds you are able to raise by other means.

(6) Collections can be made at big sporting events such as football or basketball matches, as well as at shopping centres and supermarkets.

(7) A disco, dinner or barbecue can be arranged with a small entrance fee that can be collected to be used for charitable purposes. There is a strong possibility that many people would like to come to the party, and some might even donate more than just the entrance fee for the party.

(8) One can also design a special fund raising website on which all information would be provided about the charitable cause, and also some other useful information can be placed that might encourage people to make online donations.

(9) It is also possible to buy small items from manufacturers at discounted prices and then sell them door to door, and use the profits for charity.

(10) A fundraising event, such as a carnival or festival, can also be organised and the ticket money from various activities be used for charity.
